


Our Story
The Bayelsa Food and Art Festival which started as the Bayelsa Food & Drink Festival in 2017 stormed the City of Yenagoa, Bayelsa state with an avalanche of fun, merriment in an atmosphere of love, as people of different age grades and social status came together to promote the food culture of the Bayelsa people. The event which spanned for two days had about 700 people in attendance, with over seven indigenous food brands, dignitaries, entrepreneurs and corporate individuals. The event had activities such as eating and drinking competition, food and drinks exhibition, dance competition, amongst others. Social media reach of the event raked in over 15,000 impressions, with numerous radio and blog mentions.
The 2018 edition became more significant and better with indigenous collaborations from some of the finest digital media brands in the state. The second edition did not only improve on the successes of the first edition; it tripled it – even introduced new activities that added more spice to the event. The second edition which spanned for three days had about 3,000 people in attendance, over 15 indigenous food brands, dignitaries, entrepreneurs, performing artists and corporate organisations. Interestingly, every single vendor at the festival sold out by the end of day 3. Inclusive of the activities from the maiden edition. The second edition introduced the Street Cooking Competition, Raffle draw lottery, celebrity cooking competition, children eating/drinking game, a variety of indigenous performing arts, comedy, and lots more. Social media reach of the event was over 50,000 impressions, with repeated radio and blog mentions.
In 2019, the festival rebranded to the Bayelsa Food & Art Festival on the premise to become much more significant and much better and to further broaden the event to showcase local arts and music and also accommodate more activities aimed at giving attendees maximum thrills.



The vision of the Bayelsa Food & Art Festival is to promote the food and art culture of the Bayelsa people while offering a platform for dozens of small and growing businesses, especially food entrepreneurs to increase brand visibility and sales.
The 2020 edition of the Bayelsa Food & Art Festival to date. The event have continued to wow its attendees. Food vendors, chefs and beverage makers showcase their latest products, cuisines, trends and innovations within the food and drink industry. Guests have the opportunity to discover new and exciting brands, products and designs within the food industry and also have a feel of different kinds of dishes, from local to international in one place under a relaxed and entertaining atmosphere. The festival activities include exhibitions such as fresh foods which comprise all kinds of vegetable and exotic fruits, food, music and dances.
